Rosemary Beach, Nick's, PCB

One of my favourite developments is Rosemary Beach.  The covenants are very strict but the different architects rise to the occasion and the development has a European air about it while still fitting very well in the local landscape.  I just marvel at the architectural details that you can find everywhere.  There is very little ticky-tacky  here [IMHO].  Here are a few selections of details that I noticed yesterday as we walked around with our good bridge buddies and guests, Rick and Gloria Cline from Manotick [where it's still snowing!  But that's another story].

The first picture is of the single turret of the local hotel that has now been three years in building, yet still unopened.

Nearby is this interesting chimney of a private home.

Just at the corner is this external staircase that just begs to be snapped.

This next image is of the same hotel turret as seen from the back of the hotel.

As mentioned earlier, the area has a European aura; what more could you ask for than a pastry chef rushing back from his break...

We then went to Nick's for lunch.  This is a restaurant on the North of a very large Bay between Grayton and Destin.  This bay is large enough to be part of the Inland Waterway system so the trip to the restaurant is almost an hour and a half from here, and well worth the effort!  It serves the finest sea foods in the area, at very affordable prices.  

One of the fun things is that Nick's has some very interesting fancy chickens running around the back of the property and you can see these guys as you look to the Bay while eating.  This is the first time I saw very young chicks and I might need a little  help from the grandkids to count them.  They were moving around too fast to count while we were eating but Gloria counted 11.  Can you help me out and tell me how many little chicks there are?

Today we went for a walk on the beach and these next pictures were all made there.  I'll leave it to your imagination as to what they are.

This is the beach view as you look West, towards Panama City Beach.  We are at the very quiet end of the beach...

Here are Gloria and Joan doing their fast walk along the beach, against the stiff wind we had today.  Tomorrow, we leave the fleeces behind...
