Sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes I'm very lucky and today was one of those times.
Yesterday we had supper with Phyllis and Dave, both avid birders who have been great mentors. As the four of us drove over to their place in Sanibel, we spotted a swallow tailed bird which we dutifully described on arrival. Their well reasoned reply was: a Swallow-tailed Kite and we were congratulated for spotting it since it is apparently quite rare.
As mentioned, today I was luckier; just outside our door in Palazzo, not one but two Swallow-tailed Kites soaring around like good raptors do.
The car is pretty well packed, peace has replaced panic, and the world is unfolding as it should.
Life is good!
