Well we're now in the Central time zone so it's been a long day, even though it's still bright outside. We hit the road at the 7am crack-of dawn, and had clear sailing all day. At first, the traffic was kind of heavy, but moving very nicely in fairly hilly terrain. The picture below was made shortly before we entered Ohio.
Later in the afternoon, the temperature shot up to a dry and windy 30ºC, the terrain flattened out and the traffic all but disappeared, much like the picture below.
Most of the morning we passed modified old cars and hot rods while after lunch they were coming at us. We must have just passed the site of a car show and sale nearby. We saw everything for early 30's hot rods, to fifties nicely modified classics, older grunge trucks and modern trucks and trailers with car parts. It could be quite a show.
Other than that, we saw at least three auto-haulers filled with brand new Teslas headed east. Oh for a free sample, but I digress...
Our day's travel was through fairly lush areas and farms. Even then, we saw lots of irrigation machines spraying water into the hot dry air. I'm not sure why farmers water during the hottest sun periods, but what we saw seemed quite common.
Tomorrow and Sunday will be shorter days so there might be some more pictures.
