After dropping the 'kids' off at the airport, we visited harbour Island, a man-made island made from the dredging of a deep channel in this natural harbour.
The island has a few restaurants at one end that can house literally hundred if not thousands of people. After 4pm, the acres of parking are all reserved for 'valet' parking at $7.00/car. Either way, here is Joan walking on a path around one of the restaurants. This particular restaurant is fairly new, but it does serve breakfast and was almost full, remember this is a huge restaurant, and the parking lot was barely occupied.
From the walk around the restaurant, we could see this wonderful landscape of the city of San Diego: quite stunning.
If you look carefully in the background of the next photo, you can see aircraft parts; that's because the airport is basically right down town.
At the other end of the island, this 'Lighthouse' restaurant had an equally stunning view.
All in all, we are having fun touring around San Diego, even on cloudy days.
