Friday is a good Zoo day; unfortunately, everyone else thought so too... It's President's Day long weekend and many people get Monday off work, so it's a long weekend, and it would seem that many took today off too.
These next pictures were all shot through somewhat scratched glass that's about 1.5" thick, so there are a few reflections.
Here is the big male, with his girlfriend having a quick drink in the background. [It was 30ºC, 80ºF today]
He dove into the water and shook the water off whenever he surfaced.
He also likes to play with this blue rain barrel, eventually destroying it in a week or so. Here he's got one hand on either end of the barrel, and wants to get it up out of the water. He didn't succeed while we were watching, but it wasn't for the lack of trying.
We've seen him jump on the barrel, pound it, squeeze it, bite it, and eventually rip it apart: always fun to watch.
