On The Road Again: Grayton to Columbia Tn

The call of Frankie is an annual production which occurs at this time of year, and my defenses seem to be weakening. Usually, I can get about half a week in April in Florida before we leave. This year is different: our 'lease' was up March 31, so we had to leave on April 1. At least, that's what I thought.

Turns out, Len and Judy [mainly Judy, apparently] got the itch to go home too, and left this morning.

It also turns out that plans were made for lunch with Jan today. We were to meet at the Seagrove Market for grouper sandwiches. Good idea, but as it turns out, we were to be packed and ready to 'move on'. So after a great grouper sandwich, we 'moved on'.

Now we're at the Comfort Inn in Columbia Tennessee, just shy of Nashville. At this rate, we should be home by Friday night, maybe earlier or later...

The drive today was in full sunshine, up to 25C on my side of the car, and air-conditioning cool on the co-piloto side, so Joan was under our synthetic red blanket [it's not a synthetic red, it's a synthetic blanket that's red, a lovely red at that!], somewhat freezing, while I was somewhat roasting. What-ever!

We stopped for the day [about 7:30 p.m.] in Columbia Tennesee and should be in good shape for a crack-of-dawn departure...

We'll see.

Sorry, no pictures of the gorgeous dogwoods; or the wisteria vines, bushes, or trees; or the smart small houses along the way. Transit has to be a grind and someone has to do it. Right?
