Lakes Park is a very good place for a walk where one can see roosting birds. Since hurricane Irma and the ensuing red tide last summer and fall, the birds are not as plentiful as they had been last winter.
The park also has many walking trails as well as a small gauge railroad. You can also rent bikes, boats, etc., including this pedalo where some peddling effort gets you lots of laughter.
While the shakers and movers were laughing their way around this huge County park, I found some strange Cypress knees to photograph.
Here is a view of the funky water toys for rent.
Next we drove to the Edison/Ford Winter Properties where a huge Kapok tree provided this amazing root.
The afternoon ended at our community pool.
Then a quick trip to the hardware store for more propane... Eventually, the steaks were thrown some heat, and the evening unfolded as it should.
