San Antonio Tx to Gulfport Mississippi

The usual 'crack-of-dawn' departure, shortly after 8 am, was followed by a fairly nondescript drive through hilly territory that was quite humdrum.   Interstate highway driving can easily be like that...  The excitement came when we left the climate controlled car and discovered how cold and windy it was; by far the coldest we've had in weeks!  Maybe we should head back...  Our drive was really uneventful, even driving through Houston and Baton Rouge.  As usual, there's always a little construction to keep you awake.  

The drive through the swamps of Louisiana on bridges that keep you just a few yards above the swamp are really interesting; these bridges are many miles long. I seem to recall one being nearly 30 miles long!

To help time pass, we listened to Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovitch.  We still have a few CD's to hear but the story so far is quite interesting.  Looking forward to the finish tomorrow.

Had some difficulty finding supper so we went to Hooters, but that's another story.
