Our new birder friends, Phyllis and David, suggested that a visit to a private bird feeder [about a half hour away] would not be in vain. Peter and I drove out on Friday and managed a few pictures that might be of interest. I'm not very sure of their names but I think the birds with blue are Indigo Buntings, and the ones with yellow are possibly Pine Warblers.
The new kid at the feeder is a Painted Bunting, certainly one of the most striking birds we've ever seen.
A repeat visit at a different time of day may well be in order...
