Whimsical Museum, Sarasota, Fla

Today was a special day with our good friend Jan Pierce, in Nokomis and Sarasota.

These first few pictures were made by Jan on her smartphone.  The Whimsical Museum did not allow 'real' cameras in the museum, so Jan kindly provided these.

The whole museum is filled with paintings, objet d'art, sculptings, glass works, and every other imaginable art objects that make you smile, giggle, or just make you feel good.

What fun!

Finally, a dancer with a monkey background, amongst the live oaks in the museum's garden.

Beforehand, in the parking lot, where 'real' cameras were allowed,   we saw many large metal whimsical sculptures, like this horse, made mainly of horseshoes...

And a giraffe 'hottie', with attitude and eye lashes....

Since we had some time to fill before the museum actually opened at 1:00pm [Jan's pictures above], we went to lunch at this wonderful restaurant: 'Columbia'.  It has been around for a century or so, and serves food that we enjoyed without reservation. 

If you come across any member of this small chain, treat yourself: you deserve it!

We always have adventures with Jan: serendipity is the order du-jour. 

While we had a few other plans for today, we managed to fill the day perfectly. Too bad I could not capture laughter and happiness to share with you.
