Our generous hosts have Netflix, and they receive both the 'stream a movie when you want' or 'we'll send you a CD after you send back your last one'.
There was a CD of Lady in the Van, with Maggie Smith, hanging around and Sunday night was as good a reason as needed to watch it.
It was a very compelling film with Maggie Smith doing an excellent job [as usual] of portraying a street person who lived in a Van. Well worth seeing: highly recommended, IMHO.
Of course, watching a movie means relaxing and here's proof. Phillip and Kathleen, absorbed by the movie, Maverick absorbed by the blanket. That's his ear on the left, his snout and face are well wrapped by the blanket.
Today, Joan and I drove to Cabrillo Point National Monument, a great place to see San Diego in the distance.
Before looking east, we looked west. Here's the raw Pacific meeting the western shore of California. Note the old lighthouse, at the right of the palms at the left back-corner of the picture.
Once you head a little more Southward, you see this wonderful view of San Diego: see the collection of high rises at the right near the horizon line? That's down town San Diego. The water on the right and bottom of the picture lead to the left which is the San Diego Harbour.

And here's a better view of the very large harbour: both civilian [background] and military [foreground].
The weather is slowly heating up, and we'll soon be lowering the roof to smell the roses. More to follow...
