Thursdays do not seem to have a 'go to' activity pre-ordained, so we made it 'house-cleaning day'...
With the outside temperature on the cool side, we decided for a short walk to a nearby pond.
We found this 'land dragon' [?] a handsome guy, or lady, about a meter long, much like the one we saw in Sanibel. This is a face close-up, showing the intricate designs that make this lizard quite attractive.
This duck was busy preening but was still was having a bad hair day.
The duck's buddies were lounging in the shade nearby...
Our intrepid 'dragon' is about a meter long, and it is somewhat difficult to make a decent portrait of such a long and skinny beasty.
We were hoping to see the otters that are reputed to be in the area, but today was obviously not the right time. Maybe next time.
