I guess these Malayan Tigers aren't really kitties, but they are sisters: only two years old and weight about 200 pounds. They become adults at about 5 years old and will weight about 250 pounds [the males would weight in at 300 pounds].
These sisters were part of a liter of three, the other being a male. He's already been sent to another facility to be used in a breeding program.
These sister's Mom was very aggressive and had been attacking people in villages so she had to be removed from the wild. The sire [Dad] was also removed from the wild and they were not genetically related so their offspring are extremely valuable in an international breeding program to try to protect these endangered specie. The sisters will be sent to different facilities as soon as they become more adult. By the way, their Mom was a very good parent!
These cats are solitary and it's only because these two are still young sisters that they can be kept together. It won't be too long before they'll have to be separated to prevent one from seriously hurting the other.
For the moment, we were very lucky to see the two 'kittens' and we stayed long enough to make a few pictures. It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy them.

... and another orchid in-the-wild for Albert. Today was kind of cool and this little flower is going to take more than one day to open fully. A rare sight? You saw it here first. [maybe]
We found that maybe the best way to visit a zoo, is to go to one exhibit and stay an hour or more. We also found that looking outside the cages can be interesting here since the landscaping is nothing short of fantastic.
We sure saw a lot and had fun. What more could you ask for?
